Reference links vs affiliate links
Many merchant buttons on this site start as ordinary links to useful pages — refurbished listings, trade-in estimates, carrier plans, accessories. We label the commercial context on each page so you know what you are clicking.
When we have an active affiliate relationship with a merchant, the same link may earn us a commission. That never adds a fee for you and does not change how we rank models or write recommendations.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site point to third-party services for refurbished phones, trade-in estimates, carriers, or accessories. We only count a link as affiliate when we have an approved program and tracking in place. When a qualifying link earns a commission, it does not add a fee to the transaction.
Where links may lead
- Refurbished iPhones — marketplaces where you can review current listings, condition, and warranty terms.
- Trade-in — Apple’s Trade In estimate flow, which asks for your model and condition.
- Carriers — mobile plan pages where coverage, terms, and pricing can be checked directly.
- Accessories — cases, chargers, MagSafe, and screen protectors.
How this affects what you read
It doesn't change our rankings. We compare iPhones on dimensions, weight, battery, and camera using published specifications, and we say when a model is not a good fit — including when the best move is to keep the phone you already have or buy nothing at all. A potential commission does not earn a higher placement.
Where a link may be monetized, we add a short disclosure on the page itself so you can see the relationship before you click.
